SGA elections
At what point do we escape high school? For some, it is the first night spent on campus, away from your parents. For others, it is the first all-nighter spent writing a term paper. For several members of the University's Student Government Association (SGA), it seems like they are still waiting for that period in their lives to pass.
New reality show
Finally, a reality program to show the world the hard work it takes to publish and print a newspaper. Even though it was a high school paper, maybe an award-winning weekly newspaper could be capable of pulling it off. Oh, wait. It's on MTV? Maybe not. "The Paper" premiered Monday evening and started with a half-hour episode full of nonsense.
Letter to the Editor
As you may have recently noticed, the quality of Internet speed campus-wide has been terrible, to put it nicely. Whether I am attempting to stream a short video off of YouTube or use my Netflix account to stream a video (which I paid for, and this problem renders it nearly useless, unless it's the right time of day), I wind up waiting very long, as the video downloads and buffers.

Most people are aware of the sad reality that kidnapping cases rarely have happy endings. However, North Port, Fla. resident Denise Lee's life was tragically cut short after one false move by the police department. Her murder could have-SHOULD have-been prevented.

Public transportation is a key component in methods for traffic congestion alleviation. More people on trains and buses theoretically can lead to fewer cars on the road and less time in traffic. It also could temporarily prevent gas prices from reaching the $4-per-gallon mark.

Ever walked around campus after dark? Maybe had to cut through a quad to a late-night session at Dempster? Going back to the Netherlands from a party in Colonial Square? Heck, even going to Suffolk Hall during finals season after a cram session in the library.
Viewpoint: Podhoretz's speech makes a case for Iraq war
A feature story on Podhoretz's speech and an editorial on Bush's "romanticism" of the Iraq war were released in the March 27 issue of The Chronicle. While it is understandable that editorials are biased, feature articles should be objective. Since Brian Bohl's editorial, "Bush attempts to 'romanticize' war in Iraq," was printed, Manzoni's feature article on Podhoretz's speech should have had an objective tone.
Letters to the editor: Anti-Nonsense fliers unnecessary
Democracy in a two-party system has the potential to be divisive. While the spirit of democracy is to bring the citizenship together in a spirit of communal choice, those who disagree on candidates and issues often end up at odds. This is generally unavoidable, but it is bad form for a candidacy to speak out against the supporters of another camp.
Taglit-Birthright Israel trip
Calling all Jewish students: Have you ever wanted to travel to Israel to experience the beautiful land and people, but were never able to afford it? Well, now, through the Taglit Birthright Israel program, Jewish students ages of 18 to 26 can travel to Israel during their winter and summer vacations for 10 days.
